P.B.C. Family & Friends,
We Pray you had a joyus Christmas & a New Year's beginning filled with Hope. As Christians, we are convinced every day is filled with Hope not because our plans are good, not because our health or finances are good, but solely because we have Christ - and He absolutely has us. In Lamentations 3:21-23 we read:
"But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." (Lam 3:21-23)
Family we know that if we were to dwell on our circumstances or events that are unfolding in many lives right now, we could stumble in our Hope, and give in to dismay. Be reminded the words above, written by the prophet Jeremiah, were not written in times of plenty and peace, but in circumstances laid out in the first 20 verses of that chapter that are a littany of disasters and seemingly insurmaountable obstacles. Yet Jeremiah was filled with Hope solely because He Knew the character of the God He served. God is Love, God is Mercy and God is Faithful. As we begin our new year together, may we cling tighter to Christ & tighter to each other- great things are being done by God in our midst. We hope you can join us in worship this Sunday as we gather to hear the second message in our series on Cultivating Community at P.B.C. - How we will cultivate community in the coming year & beyond. In the video here, Pastor Hopson Lays out for us how to prepare for this Sunday, January 5, 2020. Included in the newsletter this Blog is attached to are some important events that begin this Sunday. New ways to Learn, New members being added to the church, New perspectives on proven ways to strengthen our knowledge and faith in the basics of Christianity and also in the next couple of weeks we will be launching Fellowship Groups- a new way to deepen our relationships, and Glorifying Jesus by letting His Love be demonstrated in the body and beyond. We Hope you take advantage of all of these new and exciting offerings.
Finally, may 2020 be a year that is like a race ran with perseverance and purpose. As Christians, we are stewards of the Greatest Story every told - the Gospel of Jesus Christ. May God richly care and provide for each of you and your families, and may we be bound tightly together by His Love that the world may know the Hope that is Found Only in Him.
